I wasn't too impressed with this book, as there was nothing that really stood out about it compared to books with similar plots/revelations that I've read in the past. It was extremely short, about 115 pages, and nothing came as too much of a surprise. I enjoyed the first portion of the book about Max's upbringing in Germany, but the sections on the jaguar and the dinghy and his life in Brazil dragged a little, and I would have quit had the book been longer.
