You've reached Mallory Ginelli, aka romance novelist Zoe Wilde. I'm not home now because, believe it or not, a British Ph.D. named Dexter Harrington offered me an all-expense-paid trip to England. He thinks 'Zoe' can contribute something worthwhile to his paper on 'Sex and the Human Species,' and who am I to argue with a man who went to Oxford? Okay, I haven't exactly told him that my experience with romance is strictly ... well, fictional. The funny thing is, if this were one of books, we'd fall madly in love..."

Mallory Ginelli, a virginal romance writer, takes a job helping renowned British sexologist Dexter Harrington with his "research" because she needs to pay off her younger sister's gambling debts. With her best-friend-from-birth Frieda in tow, Mallory goes to England and discovers a gorgeous, tormented scientist who needs to know "how to speak to a woman" because he is planning to marry Sarah, his childhood friend, and is, to put it mildly, a conversational dud. Unfortunately, he declines to tell Mallory why he's undertaking this research until they've both fallen for each other. The rest of George's tale involves how Dexter learns to unwind, how he and Mallory learn to trust each other, and how Sarah, Frieda, and Mallory's mother and sister find their own happiness.
