Although I generally don't care for books with excessive dialogue and conversation, I have to say I do enjoy author Jen Turano's style of writing. This is the latest I have read, A Match of Wits. The characters are funny and witty. The conversation flows nicely and there is a bit of mystery and intrigue. Highly recommended!

About this book:

After his departure from New York two years ago to meet up with his almost-fiancee, Zayne Beckett is the last person Agatha Watson wanted to stumble upon in her travels as a reporter with the New York Tribune. Quite pathetically bedraggled, he clearly needs to be taken in hand and sent back East to his family. Although she no longer has feelings for him, Agatha realizes--by hook or by crook--she'll have to be the one to get the obstinate man home.
Zayne has no desire to be taken anywhere and is prepared to drag his heels all the way home . . . until he finds himself slipping back into the familiar banter of his former friendship with Agatha. Once they arrive in New York, Zayne realizes Agatha's determined nose for news has earned her a few enemies, and he hopes to repay her help with some help of his own. When she rebuffs all his attempts to prove himself a knight in shining armor, the lengths to which they'll go to win this battle of wills lead to some memorable antics.
Everyone else may think them a match, but nothing could be further from the truth--until Agatha finds herself in real trouble. Have these two stubborn, too-smart-for-their-own-good people been meant for each other all along?

Series: Book 4 in the Ladies of Distinction series {The novella prologue, Gentleman of Her Dreams, review Here!; Book #1, A Change of Fortune, Here!; Book #2, A Most Peculiar Circumstance, Here! and Book #3, A Talent for Trouble, Here! {I would recommend reading this series in order.}}

Spiritual Content- Agatha has a strong Faith; Zayne is upset at God but learns that God has a plan for him; Prayers; Talks about God, forgiveness, & how He works; Grayson says he doesnt think God can forgive him for what hes done.

Negative Content- At the beginning, Zayne is drunk and passes out; he wishes once after that he has some whiskey; Blood parts (not detailed), gun shooting (semi-detailed) & Agatha almost gets killed twice by a hired assassin (barely above not-detailed).

Sexual Content- a h*rlot; A three semi-detailed kisses; A woman is in the family way but is not married; Women of the night & Brothels are mentioned; Love & Falling in love.

My personal Rating- Three Stars (and a half)

When I read book #1, A Change of Fortune, I couldnt wait to read about Agathas and her wit. I really enjoy A Match of Wits and laughed-out-loud many times {Not as much as A Change of Fortune but much more than number 3 A Talent for Trouble} Plus, Charlotte from the series prologue, Gentleman of Her Dreams, was in this one! Agatha also had a hilarious pet P-I-G named Matilda!

One thing that I can always count on when reading this authors books is that I will smile and laugh. How does she come up with some of the funny things that she puts her poor characters through? After watching Zayne and Agatha dance around their feelings for each other in the previous books of this series, I finally received closure reading their story. This was a fun read.
