Falcon MacCallister is joined by Buffalo Bill Cody in this fast-paced account of an effort to avert another Indian War. Along the way, several exciting shoot-outs and good guy / bad guy encounters take place but the most excitement occurs when they reach Wyoming Territory where Buffalo Bill plans to establish his own town of Cody, WY smack in the middle of lands a wealthy rancher wants vacated by the settlers and gold miners so he can creat a huge coal mining operation just ahead of the railroad being extended into the region. Several tribes of indians need to be relocated too so the rancher gets a lot of fake indian attacks going and the U. S. Army is ordered into the Territory to investigate and put a stop to a string of outrageous events. Lots of behind the scene drama permeates this tale with Falcon taking out plenty of deserving desperados along with a large number of attacking indian renegades. As usual, the story runs about 300 pages and ends too quickly for me. It's all wholesome reading suitable for adults and children alike. J. A. Johnstone has quickly learned to take an outline left by his now deceased famous uncle William W. Johnstone and mold it into the same fine sort of Western saga his uncle created hundreds of times.
