Homicide detective Charlotte Caissie will do whatever she has to to get the man who murdered her father. Jimmy Legere is a bigtime crime boss and they still can't prove anything for the crimes they know he has committed.

Max Savoie was taken in by Jimmy when he was a child. He owes everything he is to him, and that is where his loyalties lie. He's Jimmy's right hand man and he only listens to him. But Jimmy is dying, and he wants to bequeath the family business to Max, only Max really doesn't want it.

Bodies are turning up dead, but not just dead, massacred, torn asunder. Charlotte wants to find who is killing them, and she is leaning hard on Jimmy. She'll use the attraction to Max to get closer to him, maybe get him for more than the killings, but also the murder of her dad.

But Max isn't what he seems to be. He wants to love her, she wants to use him, and he'll die before he gives up anything on Jimmy. It's a love match made in hell.

Masked in Moonlight is a paranormal romantic suspense that will curl your toes. First in a new series, it sets the tone for more to come. Action-packed and bewitching, Masked by Moonlight is a wonderful story, and I look forward to the next in this tiltillating series!

I love, love this series. First time read for me of this fabulous author. Ms Gideon really knows how to keep the story going. Once you start this book it is hard to put down. Read this series in order and you will love the stories.

I read almost half and gave up. Cee Cee is a cop, and so skeptical and hard she should have been a man. Max is a werewolf in love with her. One minute she's torturing him, the next she's seducing him, and the next she has a gun to his head. The next thing I know she's telling her partner she plans on using him to get his boss. Supposedly she is falling for him, but she has absolutely no trust or faith in him, so I really didn't see an HEA coming. From other reviews I read there wasn't one in this book. Apparently the series is about this couple.
Oh, and the nun, Cee Cee's friend. Ummm...what she did nun's don't do.

I really like this series. While the characters have a lot of conflict, it is still obvious that they are drawn to each other. How they change is fascinating. Dark, edgy with a soft underscore. I look forward to how this develops. Good character development, not so much focus on action that there is no room for storyline.

I was enjoyable surprised by Masked by Moonlight. I got it because it was set in New Orleans and paranormal. The characters were woderfully written. I liked that the heroine was troubled but a by the book cop unttil pushed. The way the hero evolved from a man who did his masters bidding to a man who took matters into his own hands is something I haven't read it a long time and enjoyed it. The overall story was so rich that I immediately set out to buy the next three books involving these two characters. I can't wait to see where the authors takes us.
