I loved the original Tales of the City, having read each book and watched the movies. Even owned the VCR tapes....yep, I'm that old. :) San Francisco is my favorite US city, with the quirky neighborhoods and inhabitants, so this series was perfect for me to indulge in both.

I appreciated how Maupin wrapped up the Lexy story, and how Mary Ann got her 'comeuppance'...finally! Great story, much better than Michal Toliver Lives. Maupin pulls the residents of 28 Barbary Lane together in a way that makes you feel like you're sitting in their living room, sharing a drink and catching up on what has happened over the past 10-15 years. Am looking forward to reading Book 9, The Days of Anna Madrigal.
