I picked this up to read "Scandal's Bride" by Samantha James. My review is based only on that story.
Lady Victoria Carlton is being pressured by her father to accept one of the many proposals she has received this season, or he will pick a husband for her. Victoria doesn't want to marry, so she concocts a scheme to cause a scandal and make sure no one will want her. But the scheme backfires and she ends up in a hasty union with Miles Grayson, the Earl of Stonehurst. Miles hopes they can live together to satisfy Victoria's father; then quietly get an annulment. But as he gets to know Victoria, he starts to think that marriage wasn't such a bad idea.
This is a satisfying story. I picked it up because it is a prequel to "Every Wish Fulfilled". My rating: 4 Stars.
