Great story of a young lady who decides to go to the Klondike as a teacher for a year and then ends up loving it and staying. It is the at the end of the gold bust when Laura arrives but she becomes enchanted with life there. There is till a modicum of "high society" with many balls and days in for calling. Eventually she meets her future husband and settles down. When he is sent outside and that tour is up, they decide to head back inside, ie the Klondike. Wonderful tales of everyday life and adventures!
