When I started listening to this, I almost ejected it and quit during the introduction; the author really slammed the George W Bush administration almost from word one. But as I listened further, I discovered that Michael Scheuer is an equal opportunity slammer. He not only has a low opinion of the last three administrations (the recording was made before "President Wonderful" was elected, but I doubt he thinks any more of the current occupant of the White House), he is also highly critical of the military and intelligence communities.

Before you dismiss him as a wild-eyed uninformed malcontent, take a look at his credentials: The author is a 23-year CIA veteran. Fron '96 to '99 he served as Chief of the Bin Laden trracking unit at the Counterterrorism Center. From Sept '01 to Nov '04 he was Special Assistant to the Chief od the same unit.

His take on Islam and our relations with Islam is very informative - and pretty frigtening. The more I listened with an open mind, the more I came to agree with everything he says. This is almost a "must read" for any one interested in the future of our country. Mr Scheuer may hurt your feelings, but I don't think he's lying about anything.
