It also tells us how things fail and how to make things ourselves. Above all, it strives to be useful. As a platform for research and critical discourse, ... more » serves a diverse readership of scholars, practitioners, and students interested in architecture, visual arts, landscape architecture, urbanism, design, engineering, and technology. Its subjects are complex but its language is always lucid, and by treating single themes with each issue, it explores those themes diversely and thoroughly. Published three times a year and distributed worldwide, the journal was initiated by the Faculty of Architecture at the ETH Zürich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) and has an international editorial board of theorists and practitioners who serve as contributors, guest editors, and peer reviewers for submitted articles. Among those is curator, academic, and writer Philip Ursprung, editor of Herzog & de Meuron: Natural History.
