Nursery owner Celia Grant is offered a position on the board of a public garden once designed by Gertrude Jekyll. (If you don't know who that is, you need more gardening expertise...) Celia can't understand why someone is vandalizing the garden, but it gets worse - a body turns up in the private area. Now she's definitely interested. The plot gets thicker and a bit unbelievable. Without spoilers I'll just say that you couldn't write the blackmail plot today. Celia is interesting and her nursery helper Bill is amusing. The footnotes from Jekyll's books were amusing as well.
I did not care for book but have passed it on to a friend that reads his works.
