Firefighter Dylan O'Roarke takes a position teaching at the Fire Academy and is quickly paired with his nemisis, Beth Winters. Beth and Dylan have been at each others throats for the past eight years. Beth was his instructor when he went to the Academy. She did not like his risk-taking personality then and certainly didn't like it now. The clash was inevitable.
This is a great book. It is definitely a case of opposits attract. Beth is very rigid in her personality, not letting anyone get too close. Dylan is a person who tries to help everyone, even at the expense of his own safety. As the two become closer and their relationship progresses, Beth's past comes to light and Dylan understands why she keeps people at arms length. My rating: 4.5 stars.
