This is the first book in the long-running Jeeves & Wooster series by PG Wodehouse. The author is still developing his style but it is still fun. Even though this was written in 1919, it still holds up as a light-hearted comedy. The humor usually rests on the brilliance of the servant Jeeves versus the dim-witted, lazy, idle-rich Londoner, Bertie Wooster.

Because Bertie is too wealthy to work, he fills his hours finding amusement, usually at the hands of his air-headed friends. They seek Bertie's help (a less-useful help can hardly be imagined) but usually wind up utilizing Jeeves' amazing understanding of the foibles of man. This book is a collection of short stories. Here are the titles:

"Leave It to Jeeves"
"Jeeves and the Unbidden Guest"
"Jeeves and the Hard-boiled Egg"
"Absent Treatment"
"Helping Freddie"
"Rallying Round Old George"
"Doing Clarence a Bit of Good"
"The Aunt and the Sluggard"
