While it was fun to imagine Holmes at different times of his life not covered in the canon, such as Holmes the Oxford undergraduate, many of the stories lack that certain something, those peculiar details that only Holmes can unravel. It happened more than once that I solved the riddle before reaching the middle of the story, for some of these are little more than riddles.
