This is a really great book. Using an Innuit (Eskimo) setting it addresses one of the greatest fears of very young children, "If I do something wrong will my Mama stop loving me"? The illustrations are also outstanding.
beautiful illustrations , a tale about an Inuit mother and child.
cute story
We love reading this book at the end of a rough day to remind everyone that a grumpy mood, or turning into a polar bear and chasing your mother into a tent, does not change a thing in our hearts.

i have like others in this vein better.
An Inuit child playfully questions her mother's love, ("What if I turned into a musk-ox?") and each time, her mother reassures her that her love is unconditional. The lyrical text and unique, spirited illustrations convey a timeless message. A glossary and brief history of the Inuit is included.

An eskimo child asks her mother if she loves her and her mother gives a lot of comparisons in the Eskimo environment. The author is an eskimo. Several pages talk about the animals in the Eskimo environment at the end. The Illustrations are fabulous. I read this book all the time to my kids when they were little and they loved this book so much both of them kept their books and they are teens. Great book. I was in Alaska and I saw a lot of copies of this book there.
