Nice collection of 13 short stories that reflect the three aspects of the Triple Goddess--the Maiden, the Matron, and the Crone. I really enjoyed several of the stories. THE UNICORN HUNT's ending caught me off guard. A LINGERING SCENT OF BACON was quite good--and what a killer title! And BEARING LIFE---well, I thought it was a prime example of how countries led by women can be different from testosterone laden leaders. (I am NOT advocating Hilary for President---this is not a political message review) And there were a couple of stories I didn't much care for. But that's the joy of anthologies---there's something to suit every taste or not---and you get introduced to writers you might not have met up with otherwise.

I didn't care for this book. Some of the stories didn't make sense, and some I thought were completely irrelevant. I ended up only liking 2 of the stories, but ended up not carrying anything out of the stories with me.

Some good, some not but interesting stories.

I only read this for the Rosemary Edghill story, which is a Bast/Lark story set before the Bast novels. Disappointingly short; it would have made a great novel.
