A prequel to th Chronicles of Narnia. It explains the lamppost among other things. It's an excellent book, not just for kids.

I read this with my ten year old daughter after seeing the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. It fills in the blanks as to how it all began. Great book, easy read. Lively characters. She enjoyed it as did I.

This is where Narnia starts. C.S. Lewis had a marvelous penchant for writing very simply, and profoundly.

This book is a nice beginning to the chronicles of narnia. Pay attention to some details (especially the names and the significance of the tree).

C.S. Lewis never fails to surprise the reader. Whether the story is for a young adult and older adult, the author gets the reader involved in the story line. In this particular story we find the beginnings of Narnia. We get to meet Aslan and find where the first king and queen of Narnia come from.

The prequel to _Lion, Witch, & Wardrobe_, this is the 3rd book in order of publication but the first in the Narnia timeline. After seeing the 2 latest Narnia movies, I reread this book. It foreshadows EVERYTHING! It had been so long since I had read the series (the last time out of many readings), that I had forgotten. No spoilers so I can't say much except that the nephew witnesses Narnia being sung into creation by Aslan, the lion. Quite Biblical also.

explains a few things about Narnia, religious undertones when looked at as a whole against Chronicles.

When I read this series as a child, this was the sixth book. Not from a religious family, in this book it finally dawned on me that the series is a Christian allegory (although Prince Caspian gives one a giant walloping thump over the head too). It's still enjoyable as an adult but definitely a child's story.
