Ann Rule's 2014 newest book: 'Lying in Wait & Other Cases'. People say Rule has lost her edge, but I found this one just like the old Rule. A couple of her newer ones felt too sympathetic to victim's families or just overworked, but the 6 or 7 cases in this book were very interesting. Just good old true crime writing in the reporting style.

Ann Rule is my favorite true crime writer! She carefully researches her subjects and presents a well rounded picture of the whole situation. Ann Rule has a special ability to bring even the most complex cases to the reader...making all the dramatic and chilling facts leap off the page. Her stories seem to say, "Reader beware...there are a lot of sociopaths out there!!"
Ann Rule is so interesting in what she writes. always amazes me what human beings can do to one another.
Ann Rule never disappoints! This book is no exception. She once again proves that seemingly "normal" people are capable of unspeakable evil. This book is hard to put down.
