This is a breath-taking, heart-stopping, emotional story of one amazing young woman and the people who loved her. I experienced so many different emotions as I was reading, but finished the book with a smile on my face.

Some of the story is hard to read, especially for those of us who have been loved our entire lives. We need to be aware that not everyone is loved. Lulu's Café illustrates how we, as Christians, could be more attuned to the needs of those around us.

If you are looking for a meaningful story that will take you from the depths of despair to the joys of the mountaintops, I highly recommend Lulu's Café.

Leah escapes an abusive past and ends up in a small South Carolina town. She meets Lulu, owner of a cafe, who gives her a job and a place to stay. She also meets bachelor Crowley, a lawyer who can help Leah. I thought this book was good, but it deals with traumatic events surrounding Leah's past, making it possibly sensitive to some readers.
