The freedom of the range, the bawling of the longhorns, the lonesome night watch beneath a vast, starry sky--they get into a man's blood until he knows there is nothing better than the life of a cowboy--except the love of a good woman. With hair like a raven's wing and ruby lips, she had a fiery temperament that hints of wild Gypsy blood. Luke finds himself inexorably drawn to her, despite her haughty manner, despite his reservations about all women, despite the fact that she is promised to another. Luke is the one who's been hired to protect her-and he is a man of his word-but who will protect either of them from the desert storm of desire that arises whenever his lips meet hers?

I have read all of the Cowboy series books and have enjoyed each one. Greenwood does a wonderful job of bringing each character to life. I am eagerly anticipating the rest of the series and hope that they will be completed soon!! I fell completely in love with Luke!

Number 8 in the series of THE COWBOYS - LUKE
Luke has all the charm and adventure and romance of the other books in this series.

The thing about this book, and the whole series, really, is that you want to finish it quickly so you know how it ends. Then you do finish it quickly because it's so good, and you're sad because you did finish it and it's over. This is a fantastic book, though not the best in the series.
