I have read all of Lisa Scottoline's books. I have really liked most of them. This one not so much. It takes place in Palermo, Sicily. This is a story based on the beginning of the Mafia. The story involves 3 main characters and the story is brought together in the end. The author lists all the characters in the beginning, which is confusing. I listened to this book on audio and in the beginning I had trouble keeping the characters straight. However, they are also identified when they are introduced in the book. The author adds at the end of the book what is real and what is fiction. She definitely had a passion for writing this book, which I applaud. However, it wasn't her usual writing and it just wasn't my cup of tea.
