A small group of people have a chapter of the Pedro Infante fan club, a dashing and dead Mexican actor. This is the backdrop for a novel which deals with the lives and loves of citizens of small-town Cabritoville. I have to say that I think that you should be a Chicana to get the most enjoyment out of this; there are many, many inside jokes as well as Spanish. I am not, nor am I Spanish-speaking, however, I enjoyed it anyway. The themes of love and longing are certainly universal!
