There is a killer out there and he is using the personals to lure his victims. Who will be his next victim, great characters, easy to put self into story. A great page turner, wont want to put down til the case is solved

If you like thrillers involving really sick ladykillers, you'll enjoy this thoroughly. A little more graphic in places than I'd come to expect from Mary Higgens Clark, so be warned if your too sensitive.

I am becoming a real fan of Mary Higgins Clark! This book kept my interest and i found myself staying up much too late to finish it. The many characters are well developed and the plot is quite plausible. Definitely a good read.

Darcy Scott and Erin Kelley, best friends since college, decide to help Nona Roberts with her research for a television documentary dealing with the types of people who place and answer personal ads. It starts out as a lark, but it turns to tragedy as Erin is found murdered after one of her dates. When her body is discovered, there is a clue that connects her death to those of seven other women in the New York area. In an attempt to find her friend's murderer, Darcy sets out to date the men Erin met through the personals. One of them could be the killer--but which one? Clark weaves a terrifying tale of life in the '90s that is sure to draw YAs into its web of suspense. Engrossing, even for reluctant readers.

This book is not one of my favorites by MHC. I prefer to read a mystery from a detective viewpoint not one by the actual evil minded killer. Frances G.

Mary Higgins Clark is truly captivating with this novel about the twisted mind of a serial killer - but who is it?! As always, Clark keeps you guessing until the bitter (?) end! I loved every second of it - and have since read it about ten more times! Mary Higgins Clark truly is the Queen of Suspense!

This may be my favorite novel by Mary H-C. Haven't we all wondered about the personal ads, who answers them, and what would it be like to go on a blind date? Two sisters find out the hard way in this fast-moving mystery. The who-done-it is a big shock and I always enjoy how the author writes in a strong woman in the herione's role. She gets her man, but not as you'd expect from the personals ; )

Ho hum. This was an okay book, definitely nothing special. It's easy to figure the killer early in the story, so you're just reading to see how it ends.

A killer is using the personal ads to lure his victims. Erin Kelley and Darcy Scott help their TV producer friend research the kinds of people who place personal ads but Erin soon disappears. This is a well written story which is told by the murderer's perspective. The suspense keeps the pages turning and the plot keeps you guessing until the very surprising twist at the end. I enjoy Mary Higgins Clark's books and I read this one for my Century of Mystery reads as it was published in 1991. I look forward to reading another Clark book and would recommend this one to those who love mystery.
