Unusual and interesting story of a woman haunted by her new lover's ex. Modern.

This was ok, but after reading "After You'd Gone", I was expecting better.
In "After You'd Gone" I could feel the pain of the main character. IN "My Lover's Lover, I disliked one of the characters and hated what he had done, but could not sympathize with the main character so much. Just MHO. Maybe if I had read MLL first...

Having loved her first novel, After You'd Gone, I was very excited to get my hands on a copy of Maggie O'Farrell's new novel, My Lover's Lover. True to my expectations, this storyline opens very suspensefully, reminiscent of Gothic-style literature. Unfortunately, I found my interest in this story decrease as the basic storyline revealed itself. All I will say is that the 'dark secret' of this novel packs more of a punch if you subscribe to traditional monogamous relationships.
Other than that, this novel is a quickly involving read.

Beautifully written psychological drama. Once I started reading I could not put it down until I finished it.
This book started out very promising, but as it went along just got confusing for me. Not sure if it's me, or the book.
