This book i about a husband and wife separated when the husband becomes a POW during the Vietnam war. Each chapter spouse recalls what was happening to them during this difficult time and what they did while apart. I really liked the different views from a husband and wife.

This is a truly amazing book. It covers both husband and wife's documented details during his time as a POW -- going to great lengths to help the reader understand the perspectives from not only a human standpoint (hers as a wife and mother trying to raise her sons and also fight for POW's release) (his as a POW and the quite detailed life of torture and ingenuity of trying to communicate with other POW's and just survive daily); of the political debacle they both faced and the uphill battle that ensued; and of the raw human emotion involved through it all. It is a heart-wrenching drama, as well as informative as to the times of the Vietnam War, and how the love between them and faith in God helped them to endure. A wonderful story of victory in the face of a terrible ordeal. Well worth the read.
