Kieran has been marked as the new Fox, something he has been wishing for centuries, and he is heading to Feral House to meet the other Feral Warriors and their Radient, Kara. But someone he knows and dislikes has also been marked, this one a nasty bully. And that is a problem for Lyon and the other Feral Warriors since they found out some of the newly marked are the worst not the best choices.
We also get an update on Ariana, Melisande and the other Ilinas Mist Warriors. There is an instant attraction between Fox and Melisande, much to her dismay. When Kara is abducted by the Mage, the rest of the book involves her rescue, intertwined with the building tension between Melisande and Fox.
I thought the side stories with Grizz and Lepard were as interesting as the rescue attempts. The romance between Fox and Melisande was riveting as we learned the reason for Melisande's cold bitchiness but some of the intimate scenes were drawn out and I started skimming over them.

*SPOILER ALERT
I was suprised that Castin, the villain and cause of all Melisande's problems suddenly became one of the good guys.*

All in all 4 stars from me because I love this series and it moved along nicely adding new characters and mysteries.
