I cannot give an unbiased review of this book because I love everything Toni Morrison writes. The story is compelling, but the subject matter may be too offensive for some (there is some pedophilia).

I love, love, love Toni Morrison!!! Although this novel does not rank above Morrison's The Bluest Eye, it is still a rare jewel. Ms. Morrison never ceases to amaze me.

Easy to see why Morrison is a living legend. Fits right in with her body of work.

Odd book. Toni Morrison writes poeticly but I got confused sometimes who was talking. I got through the book but don't recomend it.

What a great read. Anyone who has ever been in love with a controlling person should read this. The characters may be black, but the story is universal.

"Love" is a challenging read. If you are a fan of Faulkner, you will love this book. Hang in there and let yourself live in the world of the unknown or do what I did and do some "cheating" by finding out who is related to who in whom in what way before you find yourself becoming too lost in the intricacies of the characters and their journeys. Otherwise, as usual, Toni Morrison has written a beautiful and moving novel, once again. I truly enjoyed it.
