I enjoyed this book. It concentrates on positive wartime happenings.
I loved this book!
This is a great book. Lovely read.
This was a pleasant book. It is a collection of stories of couples that met and married during the war and what's become of them. They were nice but nothing that deeply touched me. There were photos and telegrams and other momentos that I really enjoyed seeing. If you follow that era or if you are a sucker for a love story, this is nice.
I liked this book at first, and found the stories quite touching. But about half through I got tired of the happily ever after that each one ended with. Did no one ever get a divorce? Did no one have PTSD? (even if it wasn't called that back then). The stories left the impression that every single couple lived happily ever after, married for 60 years, clear sailing. I doubt that. So it was a nice collection of memories, but I am glad I got it from the library and didn't spend money on it.
I loved the positive aspects of what was surely a difficult thing during WW2 - love and marriage. This book will make you think for a long time after reading it.
I loved this book. Each love story has pictures of the couples. It warms your heart.
Pictures and lots of true love war time stories and letters. It was a lovely book and if your partens went thru this war of your loved one you will surely enjoy the book so much. It was a beautiful read.
