I thought this book was written for both a male and female audience, but it's actually written specifically for women. As a woman, this wasn't a problem for me, but thought men should be forewarned!

The other thing that I didn't expect--but really appreciated--was how Dr. Phil works to demystify men. Even though I've been told by a male friend that I have a high understanding of men, I still benefitted from reading this book. What you learn here is not applicable just in romantic relationships, but in understanding other men in your life as well--platonic friends, coworkers, etc.

I think the book should not suggest that this book is good for fixing the one you got, it really does not do much in the way of giving help in a relationship that is already going. For single people who are suffering a bit of low self esteem this may be a good one for you. If you are single because you want to be, then hey you are good to go. So all in all it depends on what you are after this book for. As always Dr. P is a ego maniac, but I enjoy reading his stuff.

I really liked this book.There are cleaar instructions on what to listen for in conversations with other people you hope to date. Gives the things to look for, and personalities to avoid. I am 50,have dated a LOT, and still felt good about what this taught me.Wish it was printed when I was young! Good dating skills for both persons.Relationship skills also covered! I give it a B or better.
