Special Agent Dante Torelli, gorgeous undercover FBI agent, is hijacked by wacky Zoey Addler immediately following the kidnapping of her neice, Petronella Spicy Hernandez, thankfully nicknamed Pete. (can you imagine going thru life with a name like that?)

Enter Neil, an incompetent (thank God) hitman who brings his own toddler on a hit. And meet Pratima and Savita, two elderly Indian women in saris who steal the kidnappers SUV with their stolen saffron in the back seat along with two toddlers.

Dante is guarding Pete's parents who are testifying against the mob boss of Chicago who apparently wants Dante out of the way. Now Dante and Zoey are are running for their lives while searching frantically for little Pete.

This is a flat-out funny book and at times there is a certain tenderness between Dante and Zoey. It's kinda sweet. Good book!

The book is kind of slow to start with but by the end I could see this book being turned into a romantic action movie... good twist towards the end. On the heat meter... not as hot as some of this authors books. Still well worth the read.

Sure, there is foul language in this book, like others have reviewed, but it didn't bother me. Enjoyed this laugh out loud book. Right from the first chapter the "oddness" begins. Keeping my attention, with like-able characters that I could believe in, and really like. A feel good book for a weekend read, hard to put down. Recommend it, but don't even read this book if the language will upset you.

This book was just okay for me. Kind of quirky. But all in all it was a quick, funny read!

I was not crazy about this book. I felt there were too many supporting characters and not enough development between the H/h. It did have some funny moments, but it is a book I am sorry I spent money on instead of waiting for it through PBS.

This is not as good the first book by Julia Harper, 'HOT'. However this is still a fun read. The supporting characters are simply a hoot. The relationship between the leads was not really well developed which hurt the book overall. However there were so LOL moments

I think if you like Stephanie Plum, you will enjoy this book. I found it a little too quirky and girlie for my taste. Entertaining, just not my typical genre.

FBI Special Agent Dante Torelli is tasked with keeping FBI informant Ricky Spinoza, his girlfriend Nickie, and daughter Pete, safe from the mob. He is also working undercover to find a corrupt agent. When the other FBI agents watching the Spinozas are murdered and Pete is kidnapped, Dante and the baby's aunt Zoey are hot on the kidnappers trail. But a major traffic jam, two elderly Indian ladies who hijack the kidnapper's van, and the fact that the police believe Dante is the hitman, causes them to lose track of Pete. Now Dante and Zoey must work together to find Pete and keep one step ahead of the corrupt agents who have set Dante up to take the fall.

Author Julie Harper also writes historical romances as Elizabeth Hoyt. I've enjoyed many of her stories and thought I'd try out this contemporary romance. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. I felt like I was reading a screwball comedy and was having trouble following it. There were too many points of view. It kept throwing me out of the story when the narrator would change chapter to chapter. I also hated that Zoey would refer to Dante as "Lips" for the first 100 pages because she thought he had Lips of Sin. I gave up in the middle of the book and ended up skimming it. I think I'll stick to this author's historical romances in the future. My rating: 2 Stars.

This this fun, but not quite as good as Hot. In Hot, we met Dante Torelli. Dante is sent to flush out and find the FBI agent who is taking bribes on the side and leaking confidential information. Dante ends up being late to his assignment guarding Nikki, Ricky, and Pete, gets into an argument with Zoey over a parking spot, and witnesses Pete's kidnapping. Zoey, not to be left behind, gets in Dante's car and off they go to follow Neil. (Zoey's sister's (Nikki) boyfriend (Ricky) happens to be the one in protective custody. He is due to testify in court and bring down Tony the Rose, mob boss. Nikki and Ricky's daughter Petronella Spicy Hernandez (AKA Pete) is the one who is kidnapped).
This has several stories going on. Neil, the kidnapper, brings his own son to a job and ends up osing both Pete and Jr. Two Indian women, Partima and Savita-di, steal back their saffron from Neil. Only thing is, there are 2 babies in the car! Dante's been framed, shot at, is being followed, and has to figure out why the 2 Indian women would take Pete. See- lots going on!
I did like this, but felt too much was going on. I thought while this had humor and there were several funny moments, there were other times it fell flat for me. More than a 3, but definitely not a 4*.
