This was my first read from this series. I don't like this book nearly as well as those about Hamish. Agatha is an unlikeable woman that I almost want to frame for murder myself. I doubt I'll actually read other books from this series, even if the plot was decent. I like the series hero to be at least somewhat likeable. Agatha could very well become the victim in one of these books for her cheating and sheer mean behavior.

This is the 1st book I have read by M C Beaton. I liked that I didnt have to read the 1st book in the series to understand the book. I loved reading it. Couldnt wait to get back to it. Found it enjoyable. I actually like Agatha Raisin because her emotions seemed REAL. Not some overly brave, risk taking heroine. The events that happened to her really shook her up. She cries, she gets scared. The 2 men in her life a pretty selfish. I love her neighbor the Vicars wife, a very stable woman who Agatha needs to be more like.
