Love, Honor and Betray is another compelling novel by Kimberla Lawson Roby. In her previous novels she has written about the Reverend Curtis Black and his beautiful wife Charlotte. If you haven't read previous books the writer very nicely gives back story so the reader won't be lost. In this novel Curtis and Charlotte are dealing with the after-effects of Curtis' affair with HIV positive Tabitha and their 2 year old love child Curtina. Charlotte is floored by having to be a mother to Curtina after Tabitha dies from her illness. This issue causes strife between the couple and Charlotte proceeds to have several affairs behind Curtis' back. Meanwhile, several women in the church after chasing after Curtis after seeing signs of strife in his marriage. Major drama erupts when skeletons come crashing out of the closet! Great read.

This was a really good book and a fairly fast read. Charlotte is as selfish as they come and drama seems to follow her everywhere she goes. I really liked all of the characters in the book, even Charlotte eventually. There are some great twists and turns in this book and even though I haven't read any of the others in the series previously, it was still a great book on it's own.
