I adore Carolyn Brown's writing. It's refreshing, witty, passionate and has real down to earth people. In fact, usually cowboys and I love cowboys!!
Love Drunk Cowboy is the first in a new series, Spike's and Spurs. I loved the Honky Tonk series, so I was excited to delve into this one.
Austin Lanier is a bonefide city girl. So it's a stretch for her when she inherits her grandmother's watermelon farm to actually live there and run it. In fact, she'd decide to sell it as quickly as possible and get back to the city.
However, when Austin sets eyes on hunky rancher Rye O'Donnell she thinks why not? She could try her hand at this farm thing. Rye is set to buy the property but doesn't realize how beautiful Granny Lanier's grandaughter until the two have sparks firing between them. Can Austin put her city slicker ways behind her to make a new life with Rye?
Entertaining, heart-warming, witty and that cozy down home feeling set the tone for Brown's new series. Rye and Austin are likable characters who this reader found herself rooting for. Great dialogue with a western feel to the book will have you hootin' and hollarin' in excitement about this new series. I can't wait for the next one!
