A good early effort by Lisa Kleypas. This book is a re-release of a book written in the late 1980's.
Kleypas is a great writer. I wouldn't put this on my Favorites list, but she's so much better than anyone else out there, you have to acknowledge that even an OK Kleypas book is better than most of the other romance put together. If you haven't read her before, this is a fine place to start. And if you have, enjoy but don't expect the Wallflowers or Hathaways.

An early Lisa Kleypas (her third book, I think?) and a good solid story. It takes place in Concord and Boston, post Civil War. Heath is a displaced Southerner who has come north to find a reason for living; Lucinda (Lucy) is the Northern girl who gives him that reason. But Lucy is engaged to another man, and seems determined, despite her growing attraction to Heath, to marry her fiance. This story was much better than I expected; it's not A+ but I'd definitely give it a B for its romantic aura and sexy scenes.

I alaways like Lisa Kleypas books for a change from other types of reading. The setting in the 1800's after the Civil War are interesting and, in this book, she also points out the problems after the war. Good quick read!
This was abit different for me since I usually stay in the regency era. This was still a really good story with lots of interesting people, history of how the south was treated after the war,and the way people change. Loved the main male character, he was very intriguing, loving and very passionate.
This was another good Kleypas novel. She is so entertaining. The characters seem so real. Hope Kleypas keeps writing this good stuff!!
I thought this book was fabulous! Im not sure why so many make a big deal out of it being her first book. It read great just like anything else she has written and i think it hit on real life matter even if it was written in a post civil war era it still rang true of life events that could happen today. LOVED IT!!
Already read this one in the past.
