Great book to read before going to England. Going to England 12 years ago was my first time out of the US o/t Mexico. Now I look for all types of travel narratives, history, historical fiction, etc in any area I hope to travel today. It adds so much to the trip!

I read this book prior to planning our trip to the Uk. Then I proceeded to read her other two titles. I enjoyed each one of them and wish she would write more. I had never written any other 'travel' type book, except for 'Under a Tuscan Sun'. Now this travel-memoire type of book is just about my favorite thing to read. Reading her books is very very nearly as good as going there.
