An enchanting book about humans who are damaged by actions of others. Loveday is an avid reader and book lover who is fortunate to work in the Lost for Words Bookshop. She has worked there for 10 years and has built a friendship and supportive relationship with owner Archie. The emotional pain suffered by Loveday causes her to wrap herself in armor of indifference to romance, but Nathan works his magic and she eventually lowers her emotional guard to allow a relationship.

No spoilers here: let me just say the story is much more than a romance. It's got mystery, death, and emotional resolution. I'll look for other books written by Stephanie Butland as I enjoyed her writing style.
