I received this from bookcrosser as a surprise, and a lovely surprise it was! This is a 2 cassette abridged reading of "Lost in Space" by Joan D. Vinge that was based upon the screenplay for the movie made a few years back. It brought back all kinds of fun memories about the campy show I grew up watching. The original box is missing and the cassettes have bookcrossing labels attached to them so that I, the previous owner and any future readers can track the book and read others comments (fun!)

In the trend toward resurrecting television shows from the 1960s and 1970s, Lost In Space is a welcome addition. This version, based on the new feature film, contains more suspense, violence, action, technology, gadgetry, and weaponry, more ecological, political, and family values, and, of course, more sex than we're used to in the old reruns. The story, radically enhanced, begins with the Robinson family taking off into space on a humanitarian mission to find a new world, as Earth is soon to be inhabitable.
