Quick read that chronicles the re-discovery of a lost Carvaggio masterpiece in 1980's/1990's Europe. Based on interviews with many scholars, art historians and others who were involved in the discovery. It reads like a fiction narrative although the story is true. If your heart beats a little faster when you find some nugget of information deep in the library stacks, you'll get a vicarious thrill from this book.

The book was fascinating and covers 400 years worth of mystery surrounding the artisdt Caravaggio and the lost painting The Taking of Christ. I read the book in one sitting!

Very interesting book - while reading a good story I learned quite a bit about Caraveggio and the intrigue of discovering a masterpiece. Yes, I do recommend it.
