I read the other reviews on this book and was excited to read it, but found the actual reading to be boring and very predictable. The same things are repeated over and over and OVER. An "OKAY" read if you have nothing else on hand.

I picked this one up for a change of pace and was immediately sucked into the story. Other readers have given this book very harsh reviews, but I don't agree with them. I thought that it was a fast paced page turner and finished it pretty quickly. I kept hoping that the obnoxious, self-centered daughter wouldn't turn up. Was surprised by the ending. Recommended.

Not the best I've read by this author. Ending was extremely disappointing. Story about a mother living out her worst nightmare, dealing with the disappearance of her oldest daughter who is very selfish and self-absorbed, an aspiring actress. This author is very good at weaving together the lives of her characters, etc. in unexpected ways. Not her best, but still good.

Forever willfull and absorbed, Julia moves back home when her father remarries and turns her mother's household in to chaos. But when Julia doesn't return after a promising audition with a HOllywood director, Cindy knows it's more than just typical Julia dramatics and a frantic search begins.

Wanted to like it! I've read other books by this author. Can we count how many times characters ask each other- " Are you OK?" Sheesh! it was over and over and over. I feltlike the author was a new author, not very confident in her story telling- let's just throw in some mindless, unnecessary details that will fill pages. Read if you're desperate, don't read if you want to enjoy a good read.

I thought this book sounded good. It had quite the build up and then the plot died. Very anticlimactic.

Mothers of daughters will appreciate best this mystery of a young woman's disappearance and the effect it has on her mother.

after argueing with everyone in her house, julia goes missing after an audition. while her mother is frantic with worry, her father could care less. the search for her turns up a few of julia's well-kept secrets. if julia ever comes back, will she be the same, or will she have changed for the better?

i knew the ending straight from the beginning. sure a couple of times, i found myself rethinking the ending, but for the most part i knew exactly what happened. i'm not just talking about what happened to julia, i'm talking about heather, faith, leigh, and everyone. while the book wasn't "a real page turner", it did have me not wanting to put it down.

This was a great story line, it was a page turner, and you felt like you were Cindy Carver, felt her pain ... and were disappointed in the end, just like her.

A spoiled headstrong young woman disappears after going to an audition for a role in a hot new movie. Her family, especially her mother, is frantic. What has happened to her? And why is her neighbor acting so strangely?

This book was OK, but not as strong as some of Fielding's other books. The missing daughter (a grown woman) is such a brat that I frankly didn't care what happened to her! The plot twist is somewhat unexpected though.

This is the first book on CD that I listened to the first three CDs and then skipped straight to the last one. It would have been excruiating to wade through the intermediate five cds. The author made the "lost" daughter such a miserable human being that the reader is not interested at all in whether she is dead or alive or what happened to her.
