Sweet and funny, enjoyable characters and setting. Nice way to while away a few hours on a lazy weekend afternoon.
First time reading this author. I enjoyed her work. Very down to earth, easy read & fun.
very good book.I really like this authors way of writing and the way her books make you feel like you are there in this small town with these people.
WONDERFUL story! Super literature!
I enjoyed this book.A very sweet story of two "lost" souls searching for meaning in their lives and finding each other in such a strange twist of fate. Curtiss Ann Matlock is one of my favorite authors, and im looking forward to reading "Driving Lessons" which is a sequal to this good book!
good story
Straight out of the heartland of the South, here is a novel to gently rock the heart and soul, a novel of a woman traveling too long on an endless stretch of lonesome road who finds her way home at last.
Meet Rainey Valentine: thirty-five, twice divorced, a woman with broken dreams but irrepressible hope. When her mother dies, she inherits a truck and horse trailer, an old barrel-racing mare named Lulu and a lifetime's supply of Mary Kay cosmetics. So, taking a page from her mother's life, Rainey packs it all up and heads off, leaving Valentine, Oklahoma, in her rearview mirror.
Then, somewhere outside of Abilene, she finds him. Dazed and wandering after a car accident, Harry Furneaux is a man as lost as she is. With nowhere else to go, he joins Rainey on her travels. And when their journey leads them back to Valentine, Oklahoma, Harry and Rainey find an unexpected new direction...
For as her mother always said, nothing happens by coincidence.
