Two young girls, childhood friends Charlie Timmons and Amy Hanson, have disappeared. Their mothers each have received a text message saying that they've been kidnapped. A second message says the parents who pay the most will get their child back. The other child will be killed. D.I. Kim Stone knows that the same thing happened to two other girls last year...only one child came home. Now she and her team must work the case and try to bring both girls back alive.

The third book in the D.I. Kim Stone series was hard to put down. Not only do we get the point-of-view of Kim while she and her team dig into the old case and question the parents; but we also get the POV of both the girl and the perpetrators. Learning what the girls were going through ramped up the tension.

There were lots of twists and turns in this case. I wasn't sure how the investigators were going to figure out where the girls were being held. They also had to determine who the mastermind was behind the kidnappings. This was a great addition to the series. My rating: 5 Stars.
