Must-read for anyone deciding to lose weight; dieting; or who has hit a weight-plateau. This is not a diet book - what it is is a book that delves into the WHY you're overweight/overeat and offers means to heal those issues so that you can be healthy and happy.

I didn't like the sense that the author was advocating a position of making yourself feel as though you are better than everyone else (p. 29-30 "Even though your parent or other adult perpetrator acted irresponsibly toward you, it's important to view them as 'sick'...better to pity that person than to hate them."). This just creates a power differential; I don't see how the views represented in this book could help anyone to lose weight. I understand some of the points she makes, but I think she did a very bad job of getting her point across in an appropriate way.
