Not his best work in my oponion but it was stuff that he copyrighted himself. So he apparently felt that it portrayed a part of himself or a part of something that I'm not understanding. I guess I just don't get it. So, it's something good for the collecting fan but not a light read for a weekend fan of the Doors or of poetry.

Just like the others he has written. Awesome!
Jim's wife (Patricia Kennealy Morrison) said it best: As a poet, he's a great song writer.
I like it for my own reasons, your mileage may vary.

The Lords and The New Creatures, Jim Morrison's first published book of poetry, has soldmore than 150,000 copies. The intense interest in the work of the murcurial lead singer of The Doors serves as a testament to the jagged immediacy that his poetry and songs continue to convey more than fifteen years after his mysterious death.
The savage, superheated intimacy of a Morrison performance, the intensity of his music, and his uninhibited personality have made an indelible impressin on our culture.
Like Arthur Rimbaud before him, Morrison's life and vision led him to an exploration of the dark underbelly of his society. He emerged with images that seethe with the liquid heat of the city, the casual danger of the drug cene, and an unrestrained voyage into sensuality.
Jim Morrison was the lead singer, composer, and lyricit for The Doors until his death in 1971.
