I liked this book more than I thought I would. The plot is well-paced, and it doesn't take a long time for the story to unfold, so I read it quite quickly.

Really enjoyed this book! The plot was great, kept your interest with a few twists and turns along the way to keep you guessing. Loved the fact that the main female character didn't do the whinning and love sick mantra! It was a fun book to read! Enjoyed the series.

The final (I think) of the series in which Felicity (from a prior book) is stuck with several widowed Lady Standons. She puts them into the house she lived in with Pippin and Tally and gives them the book they put together (The Bachelor Chronicles) when looking for husbands on the marriage mart.
Surprisingly to Felicity, the final widow becomes embroiled with none other than Lord Langley (Felicity and Tally's father), who was thought dead.
To make matters worse, all the girl's former "nannys" (really former mistresses) arrive on Minerva's doorstep at the same time.
Makes for an interesting read. It was witty and surprising. Not uncommon for Elizabeth Boyle. The only thing for me was trying to get through the age thing. It took a while to figure out who was about how old and then correctly picture it in my mind. It's so very common for hero and heroines to be young(18 - early 30's) which is not the case here. but overall, recommeneded read.

I had a hard time enjoying and reading this book. I've read the previous books in this story line and enjoyed those. My main problem with this book is the age of the hero, you don't really know how old he is BUT you do know he has a two grown daughters that are married. I just found it hard to believe a man in his forties (I'm guessing) does some of the things this hero did in the book like climbing through two story windows, etc. While I love the author, this wasn't one of my favorite books by her.

I was really disappointed with this Boyle book, having thought the last few were pretty good. It's heavy on the dialogue, rather than plot, and has a huge cast of annoying women who fight over nothing at all, with dialogue that's supposed to be funny but is not. It's like an 1800s Jersey Shore, and I just ended up skipping most of the first 50 pages of the book and skimming a large portion later on. And when it came down to the scene where the hero and heroine first end up in bed together, I truly put the book down and said "You've got to be kidding me" -- because I could hardly tell they even liked one another at that point, and they were supposed to be madly in love. As I learned in maybe 8th grade English class, this author needs to show us they're in love, not just tell us they're in love. A really sub-par effort in my opinion.
