An inspiring, heart-jolting read! Those of us who live in peace may think we understand what happens in a war-torn area like Sudan but until we become involved in some way - be it books, video, or personal - we cannot really know. This little book touched me deeply. It depicts war with such graphic emotion that I cried with the Salva as he searched time after time for his family, lost both family and friends yet somehow found the will to go on - one step at time, one day at a time. It focused on those affected by war and how they coped with its tragic consequences. So well done, young and old can take small steps of understanding and learn how it might have felt to walk in Salva's shoes. Do read it. It's short but so inspiring.
