One of my favorite Janette Oke books - a little longer than some of her others books so you get more to read. Yeah!

While this book was enjoyable, I found it a little slower than my usual preference. I did not really relate to the characters. The story is well written and the characters and well developed, however, the plot was a little on the slower side.
Good story of a devoted mother and her daughter. Many unselfish characters.
This is one of my favorite of Janette Oke's books. Sarah is a young wife and mother. Her husband Michael dies unexpectedly. She is in a small prairie town in Western Canada. She needs a job to support herself and her daughter. She takes over her husband's hauling business and despite some men very interested in her opts not to remarry. She makes enough money to send her daughter to a fine school while she barely makes ends neet. When her daughter comes home after high school graduation, she is appalled at her mother having no servants and living on the edge of poverty. She packs her bags to her rich friends in the city and has an accident that will change her life forever.
