I was ensconced in my favorite red club chair in the Seven-Year-Stitch seating area listening to the rain drumming on the roof and the sidewalk.
This is the fourth book in the Embroidery Mystery series set in Tallulah Falls, Oregon. This book opens on St Patrick's Day and Marcy is working on Mountmellick, a traditional Irish embroidery. There is a fraternity reunion at Brew Crew and one of the members is murdered. Todd, Brew Crew's owner, and Blake, McKenzies' Mochas owner, are arrested for the murder. Neither of them will talk to the police because they each feel that the other committed the crime. Todd is one part of the triangle involving Marcy and Ted. Ted is responsible for arresting the two. Marcy of course decides that she must solve the crime and free her friends.
This installment had more twists and turns than usual. There was a larger cast of characters and therefore more suspects. Everything seemed to hinge on a girl from college that all of the fraternity members dated at one time or another.
Angus, Marcy's Irish wolfhound, is one of my favorite characters. He is quite well behaved to be the shop dog for a small business.
I would have liked to learn a little more about the Mountmellick form of embroidery. Pretty much all I learned was that it was a white on white technique. I guess I will need to do a little research to satisfy my curiosity.
I look forward to catching up with the crew in the next book.
