The murdered man is thought to have been involved in an armored truck robbery several years past . Both money and robbers disappeared. The sheriff alleges McGee and Meyer are accomplices. The three disagreed resulting in the murder. Neither of them had even heard of the dead man.
Because of his injuries, Meyer is taken to a hospital for treatment while McGee remains on good behavior as authorities investigate further. McGee's lawyer asks him to check out the situation. Though dated, this very well written mystery has good characters typical of the time. The author wrote many mysteries worth checking. Good quick read.
