For me this book started out a little raunchy and crude but improved as I got into it and it turned into a pretty good erotic love story. Several other underlying relationships were brought to light in this book as well that will apparently be played out in future books in the Rough Riders series. I am looking forward to reading more!

Channing is looking for an adventure and runs off to follow the rodeo. The cowboys she hooks up with are more than capable of taking her on a "Long, Hard Ride." What starts out as a slutty smut fest develops into an erotic love story. Lorelei James really displays her skills in roping the reader into her story of young, reckless lust/love.

I really, really like this series. When I read this book the first time, I was hooked from the first page. Channing Kinkaid is the right mix of sweet and sassy, strong and vulnerable, and she isn't afraid to stand up for herself against Colby, a rough and tough, charming and sexy alpha male. I love Colby and I love Channing, and this book will get you hooked so make sure you are ready with the next book cuz once you finish this one, you'll be dyin' to read more about 'Rough Riders'!

Sexy, "hits all my right buttons" book. I love to read this when I am looking something easy fun and edgier. Loved the hero Colby- so smooth and alpha. Great series read them all (up to 10 as of now I think) and haven't been disappointed yet. This one and Cowgirl Up and Ride (book 3) are my personal favorites.

Lorelai James knows how to to write good cowboy romance. And there's romance for all genders. James can write a good story with steamy love scenes. Now when I say "steamy", I mean the kind that you don't want your grandma to read. This book has m/f, m/f/m, and m/m. The m/m is done well and very hot. The m/m relationship between two of the characters in Long Hard Ride continues in Rough, Raw and Ready.
The Long Hard Ride is a great introduction to the Rough Riders series, which is one of my favorite series. James really captures what it's like to be part of the rodeo circuit.
This book is a keeper.
