Mei Clayton was adopted by a wealthy family from China when they learned they couldnt have children. Mei grew up feeling like she didnt belong anywhere, particularly after her parents had a biological child, a boy, who became her best friend. Mei has returned to Colorado from her San Francisco home to get her inheritance: she must spend a full year in this sleepy little town with her five cousins. However, the family has long been divided over who cheated who many years ago, and distrust amongst family members is common.
Mei is reunited with her high school crush, mountain rescue ranger Jack McCord, almost immediately when she tries to save her cousin Jasmine from an avalanche. Jasmine and her fiancé, Cade, however, have an idea to stop the family feud: a family reunion Thanksgiving dinner. Mei is sure shell never fit in with the Claytons, but Jack welcomes her back home with open arms.

Nice light read about a adopted family returning back to the town with a split family/town issue.
